Alien Employment Permit (AEP)

Alien Employment Permit (AEP)

Welcome to Asia Relocation’s Visa and Immigration Philippines service page. We are dedicated to providing our clients with comprehensive and up-to-date information on Visa and Immigration procedures in the Philippines, with a particular focus on the Alien Employment Permit (AEP).

Our Alien Employment Permit (AEP) service is designed to assist foreign nationals seeking to work in the Philippines. The AEP is a crucial permit issued by the Department of Labor and Employment, authorizing foreign nationals to work in the Philippines. Please note, however, that the AEP alone is not valid for employment; securing the appropriate working visa is a necessity.

An AEP is a prerequisite requirement for several types of visas, including the Special Investors Resident Visa (SIRV), Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV), Treaty Traders (9D) Visa, and Special Non-Immigrant Visa (47A2).

Here’s what you need to know about the Alien Employment Permit (AEP):

  • Validity: Depending on the need of the foreign national, the AEP can have a validity of one year, two years, or a maximum of three years.
  • Processing Time: The processing for an AEP typically takes 3-4 weeks.
  • AEP Card: The issuance of the AEP comes with an AEP Card.
  • Employment Start: A foreign national should only commence work in the Philippines upon issuance of the working permits.
  • Before applying for an AEP, the company must publish a job notice at any Philippine newspaper within 15 days.

To apply for an AEP, the following requirements must be met:

  • Use of Asia Relocation templates
  • Provision of the Original Passport with valid tourist visa
  • Proof of TIN (TIN Card / Form 1904) – must be verified by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
  • Copy of the Newspaper Publication
  • Submission of the latest SEC Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws (CTC per page)
  • Latest GIS (CTC per page)
  • Latest Mayor’s Permit – with received/stamped by the Municipal
