Temporary Visitor’s Visa (9A) / Tourist Visa
The Temporary Visitor’s Visa, also known as the 9A tourist visa, is designed for foreign nationals who wish to visit the Philippines for a short period of time. This visa is ideal for travel, leisure activities, business visits, or other non-working purposes. Please note that using this visa for employment is strictly prohibited and may result in penalties.
Duration and Extensions
The initial validity of the Temporary Visitor’s Visa varies depending on your nationality and the visa regulations. Visa free countries typically allow a 30-day initial stay, with the possibility of extending for an additional month on the first extension. It’s important to check the specific requirements and limitations based on your country of origin.
Tourist ACR I-Card
After 59 days of stay from the date of your latest arrival, foreign nationals will automatically be issued a tourist Alien Certificate of Registration I-Card (ACR I-Card). This card is valid for one year and serves as an identification document as a tourist during your stay in the Philippines.
Visa-Free and Visa-Required Countries
Visa regulations differ based on your nationality. Citizens of visa-free countries may stay for up to three years using a valid tourist visa, while those who are not included in the list of visa-free countries are required to obtain an entry visa (9A tourist visa) from the nearest Philippine Embassy before traveling to the Philippines. It’s essential to verify the specific requirements for your country to ensure a hassle-free journey.
