Self Storage · Philippines

Self storage in Manila and Cebu: a locked unit of your own, on your side of the city

A secured unit you enter yourself, on a flood-free site near the district you work in. For the expatriate whose Makati condominium is smaller than the last house, the family whose residence is not ready, the company with stock to reach. Asia Relocation Philippines runs the sites; its packers bring the load in if you would rather not.

Self storage is the storage where you stay in charge: the unit is yours, the lock is yours, what goes in and out is your decision. It suits the expatriate with more than a Makati condominium can hold, the company that fetches a carton of files every few weeks, the family in a serviced apartment until the residence is ready.

It asks in return for honesty about the climate and the map. Manila's heat and humidity do more damage than any burglar: a standard unit is right for furniture and cartons, wrong for a guitar, a laptop or a box of photographs. And in an archipelago the unit must be on the island the goods will end up on, and on your side of the capital, or you will stop visiting it.

Asia Relocation Philippines is where this company began, in 2011. The sites are our own warehouses in Manila and Cebu, in flood-free zones, watched around the clock. The packers who move households bring your load in and hand you the key.

The perimeter

What comes with the unit, and which of the other two services you may need

Three ways to store with us; the difference is who opens the door.

Carried by the service

  • A unit sized to the load, individually locked, in a clean, dry, lit building, resized as the contents change.
  • Entry for you and the people you name: opened on notice, quickly, and for nobody you have not authorised.
  • A site built to be trusted: cameras at all hours, access control at the door, burglar alarms, ground in a flood-free zone.
  • A plain agreement: unit, term, access rules, what may not be stored, and a monthly invoice with only those lines.
  • Help when you want it: packing materials, our packers for the move-in, delivery to your door when the unit closes.

Unit size and figure are put in writing after the survey.

A different service

  • Things the climate would ruin. Electronics, instruments, art, antiques and paper belong in air-conditioned storage, held for you in Manila, Cebu or Davao.
  • A load that will cross water again. Goods bound for another island or another country do better sealed into reinforced crates, which survive being craned and stacked as cartons do not.
  • The move itself. A household going from one Philippine address to the next is our moving service in the Philippines; the crew can drop part of the load here on the way.
  • A roof in the meantime. If the furniture is in the unit because the home is not ready, temporary housing in Manila is the other half of the problem.

One file covers all of it. Mention the rest in the inquiry.

Ways to use it

Four loads that take a unit in Manila or Cebu

Same unit, same lock; what differs is how often the door opens.

The tower apartment that could not take it all

The most common case in Makati, BGC and Ortigas: a household that landed with more than a tower can hold. Spare furniture, golf bags, the cartons never unpacked.

Too much

Between the hotel and the residence

The container has cleared, the family is in a serviced apartment, and the lease has slipped. Everything sits in a unit for a period nobody can fix; the term extends, then the unit shrinks once the essentials come out.

Between homes

Stock, samples and archives

Furniture from a floor given up, marketing material, event kit, files a company must keep and occasionally produce. A corporate account, a list of who may enter, one monthly invoice.

Business

The home in works, the home downsized

A renovation that empties two rooms, a move from a house in Alabang to a city flat, a retiree in Cebu keeping less. A unit for months, closed with a delivery home.

Interval
How it works

Five steps between the first call and your key

  1. The consultation, and the island question

What is going in, for how long, and where it will be delivered afterwards. From that we propose a site and a unit size, and flag anything that belongs in a controlled unit.

  2. The unit

Chosen from the sizes on the site, and it can change later: larger for a full household, smaller once a few cartons remain.

  3. The agreement

A short document in plain words: unit, term, who may enter, what may not be stored, the monthly invoice. Signed, and the unit is yours.

  4. The move-in

Yourself, with our trolleys and the loading area, or our packers collecting anywhere in Metro Manila or Cebu and placing the load with what you need first at the front.

  5. Visits, on notice

Tell the site you are coming and the unit is opened, under the cameras, for the people you have named. When the hold ends, we deliver to the door or you collect.

Who it's for

The four clients who keep a key to a unit with us

The expatriate who landed with too much

A Manila tower is often smaller than the house left behind. The unit takes what does not fit, on your side of the city, so it is actually visited.

The family whose residence is not ready

Between a serviced apartment and a lease that keeps slipping, with a container already landed. The term extends, the unit shrinks.

The business that must reach its stock

Inventory, samples, archives, furniture from a downsized floor: what a company keeps and occasionally fetches, under a corporate account.

The household in an interval

Renovating, downsizing, retiring to Cebu with less, or leaving for a year with a return clause. A unit for months, then delivery home.

Coverage

Two sites, Manila and Cebu, and the side of the city that matters

Units in Metro Manila and Cebu, both in flood-free zones, both our own buildings.

Metro Manila is where most units are taken, and where siting matters most: a unit on the wrong side of the capital is an hour of traffic away, and then it stops being visited. We ask where you work before proposing a site.

Cebu is a full second site rather than an agent's shelf, so a household bound for the Visayas is not held in the capital and sent down by sea. Davao has air-conditioned units only; if you need a unit you enter yourself in the south, ask, and we will say plainly what we can offer.

FAQ

What clients ask before taking a unit in the Philippines

How is self storage different from your warehouse storage?
The unit is yours to enter. Warehouse-held goods are stacked by our crew and released on request; a self storage unit has your lock on it. Choose it when you expect to keep coming back to the load.
Manila or Cebu: which site should we take?
The one on the island the goods will end up on: a retrieval from the wrong island is a sea crossing, not a van trip. Within Metro Manila, take the side of the city you work on, or you will stop visiting.
Can we get to the unit whenever we like?
You come in yourself, on notice to the site, arranged quickly. The unit is individually locked and only the people you have named are admitted, which keeps the building secure for everyone in it. Say at the survey how often you expect to visit.
What may go into a unit?
Household furniture, appliances, cartons, seasonal kit, sports equipment, archives, business stock. Nothing flammable, perishable or illegal, and not the passports or jewellery you would regret not having to hand. The list is in the agreement.
Is a standard unit enough for electronics and artwork?
No. Heat and humidity damage stored goods slowly and thoroughly: mould on leather, corrosion inside electronics, paper that cockles. A standard unit suits furniture and cartons; instruments, art, antiques and electronics belong in our air-conditioned units, and we say so at the survey.
Will you bring the load in for us?
Yes. Self storage means you may do it yourself, not that you must. Our packers collect anywhere in Metro Manila or Cebu, pack what needs it, and place the load with what you will want first at the front. You keep the key.
What if our dates change?
They usually do. The term extends when a lease slips, shortens when the residence is ready, and the unit grows or shrinks with the contents, all inside the original agreement. Nobody is penalised for planning wrong; we ask only for notice.
How is self storage priced in the Philippines?
On the size of the unit taken, the term, and whether you want our packers and packing materials. The figure is given in writing after the survey and holds unless the contents change. You pay for the space you use, not the space we guessed.
Not what you were looking for?

You would rather we held it for you, at a steady climate

For the electronics, instruments, art and paper that humidity spoils: a controlled unit we manage, in Manila, Cebu or Davao, released on request.
