A company promoted by the Board of Investment does not queue where everyone else queues. Its foreign staff enter on a letter from the Board, and their permits are handled at the one-stop centre in Bangkok where the Immigration Bureau and the Department of Employment sit together. Asia Relocation Thailand runs that channel for the company and for the families that come with it.
The Board of Investment promotes projects, not people. A company that holds a promotion certificate may bring in the foreign experts the project needs, and for those experts the file changes shape: the Board's letter is what the Thai post abroad asks to see with the visa application, and the permit is handled at the one-stop centre rather than the standard counter.
What does not change is the logic underneath. The position comes before the person, the company's paperwork before the employee's, and the permission granted is tied to that project for as long as the project and the promotion last. A position never registered cannot be filed against.
Asia Relocation Thailand runs the channel from a Bangkok desk that deals with the centre in person: positions registered with the Board, experts filed against them, dependants alongside, renewals kept on the promotion's own calendar.
The channel is narrow on purpose, and naming what falls outside it keeps the quotation honest.
Every step is dated in writing against the centre's current practice.
When a household combines these, one coordinator sequences them.
Same centre, same coordinator. What differs is what the Board has to have accepted beforehand.
The position registered, the Board's letter obtained, the visa filed from abroad against it, the permit and the stay handled at the centre after arrival. The case where order matters most.
Someone who visits the promoted company without taking a job here: a business visit on the Board's letter, single entry for one trip or multiple for a year of visits, no work permit involved.
Spouse and children filed at the same centre, their status following the expert's, prepared with the principal's file so that school enrolment in Bangkok or Rayong does not wait on a missing certificate.
The promotion has a calendar and so does each position. A promotion within the company, a transfer between promoted projects or a change of title is filed before it takes effect, not after.
Schools and training centres under promotion file their foreign teachers with the Board's letter, the education authority's letter and a criminal record clearance, a longer set than an ordinary expert's.
What the certificate covers, which foreign roles the project may carry, and whether the person you want to bring fits one of them. If the answer is no, we say so before a flight is booked.
The role is put to the Board of Investment with the justification it expects. Each expert is later filed against an accepted position, never against a job title alone.
The Board's letter is obtained and the Non-B is applied for on the e-Visa system from the expert's country, to the list of the post that will process it.
After arrival, the work permit and the extension of stay are handled at the one-stop centre, with dependants on the same visit where possible.
Renewals, amendments and closings follow the life of the project. We hold the dates for the company, not for each employee separately.
Promoted plants in Rayong and Chonburi bringing in engineers by the dozen, with positions to register before the first one lands.
A promoted headquarters whose staff rotate between countries, and whose HR wants one counterpart for every arrival and departure.
The person being filed, who wants to know what the company has done, what remains, and when the family can follow.
Institutions whose teachers enter on the Board's letter with the education authority's beside it, on the school's calendar.
The Thailand Investment and Expat Services Center, in One Bangkok on Rama IV Road, opened in March 2025 to bring the Board's investment services and the visa and work permit desk together with the Immigration Bureau and the Department of Employment.
Before the centre existed, a promoted company's file travelled between three buildings. Now the investment, labour and immigration desks act on the same file in the same place, with document standards of their own, which is why a file prepared for the standard counter is refused there.
Plant in Rayong, office in Bangkok or campus in Chiang Mai: the promoted company's foreign staff are filed at the centre either way. Our coordinator goes there in person, follows how its requirements are applied this month, and tells the company what to prepare before anyone travels.
The standard route through the Department of Employment: the employer's file first, the Non-B visa against it, the permit after arrival, renewals kept in step.
